What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an extremely relaxing and rejuvenating therapy which is
applied by the thumbs to the soles of the feet. The Egyptians used
Reflexology from 2300 B.C. Today it is used for many conditions, including
stress related problems, lack of energy, digestive and nervous conditions.
Studies have shown that reflexology is particularly effective in the
treatment of persistent headaches and migraines. It can also be a powerful
diagnostic tool.
The whole body is depicted on
the base of the feet (and the palms of the hands). A reflexologist can
tell by feeling the pressure points on the soles of the feet, whether the
energy flow to a particular part of the body is blocked. The lack of
energy to one organ or system will affect the whole balance of the body.
After a Reflexology treatment
the energy will once again flow freely throughout the body. Regular
treatments benefit both the mind and the body, helping to maintain high
energy levels.
With 7,200 nerve endings in
our feet, it is no wonder we feel better after a foot treatment.
Treatments take about one
hour.
Those who have sensitive feet
may be relieved to know that Reflexology is NOT ticklish!!
