ClinicA
natural, integrated approach to conception, infertility and pregnancy.
The Fertility Clinic offers a comprehensive individualised programme for
individuals or couples who wish to:
- Prepare for healthy conception and
pregnancy
- Enhance the possibility of conceiving
naturally
- Improve their general health and well
being before having IVF
- Benefit from the support of
appropriate treatments during pregnancy
The Clinic is run by three highly
qualified practitioners who have years of experience dealing with
fertility issues.
The Programme: What does
it involve?
Initial consultation
This will take 2.5 hours. Prior to it you will have completed a
questionnaire about your medical history, current symptoms and dietary
habits. This forms the basis of detailed discussion during the session.
Each individual will be seen for half an hour by the:
- Acupuncturist and Medical Herbalist
- Nutritionist and Reflexologist
- Osteopath and Cranio-sacral therapist
Following conferral among practitioners,
you will be seen for a half hour session, during which you will be given a
summary of findings and a suggested programme to follow. This may include
having tests carried out, or keeping records of such things as your
temperature, abdominal pain levels, and so on.
The price of the initial consultation is £300.
Follow up
This will be with the practitioner(s) whom we think the most appropriate
to deal with your situation. We will liaise regularly with each other and
adapt your programme as appropriate. Follow-up appointments generally last
for an hour. Price is dependent on circumstances.
Telephone support is also offered where necessary.
About the therapies
Nutrition ensures that your diet contains nourishing foods
which are absorbed and used by the body, so that healthy egg and sperm are
produced, and then the requirements of both the Mother and developing
foetus are met. The initial consultation will review your nutritional
status and if necessary suggest tests to see if you have any deficiencies
or toxic chemicals in your body. Supplements may also be suggested.
Reflexology is an ancient form of pressure massage performed
on the feet. It can be very beneficial in preparing the body for pregnancy
and staying healthy during pregnancy. It is a very relaxing treatment
which can help to relieve stress in those wishing to conceive as well as
during pregnancy. It can be very effective in helping to give birth at the
optimum time of 40 weeks.
Osteopathy is a comprehensive and holistic system of health
care which aims to integrate the function of the various systems of the
body such as the musculoskeletal, circulatory, neurological and lymphatic
systems. It utilizes different manual techniques to diagnose and to treat
numerous physical complaints presented by both males and females of any
age group. Osteopaths are trained to assess the body's structures, viscera
(organs) and tissues, before applying the suitable structural,
musculoskeletal, visceral or cranial approach to address any dysfunction(s)
that may be preventing healing and wellbeing.
Herbal Medicine is the oldest form of therapy practised by
mankind and involves the use of plants to treat illness. It has been used
for centuries in the treatment of infertility and gynaecological
wellbeing. A wide array of plants is employed to correct various
imbalances in the body.
Acupuncture is the method of applying delicate fine needles
(sterile and disposable) into specific areas of the body to aid the body’s
own healing response (i.e. qi). Acupuncture has been used to enhance
fertility and improve vitality since ancient times. This approach has now
been validated by western scientific research.
